Vishnugupta Chanakya (or Kautilya)  is among the greatest scholar, teacher, philosopher, economist and advisor, and strategist in the Indian history. He was born in Patliputra, Magadha. Later he moved to Taxila in Gandhar province. He had a huge contribution to the Mauryan Empire. He made Chandragupta Maurya one of the greatest kings in the history of India. His knowledge about leadership, politics, economics, and finance is proving to be accurate in the contemporary world also. The book Chanakya Neeti-Shastra written by Chanakya acted as a great source of inspiration to many kings.

Chanakya Neeti was written by Chanakya using his unmatched wisdom. It is also called Kautilya Neeti. The book Chanakya Neeti comprises seventeen Chapters. Every chapter includes above fifteen quotes over life, duty, friendship, nature, children, wife, money, business, and almost all other aspects of human life. 

Originally Chanakya Neeti was written in the Sanskrit language, which was later translated to Hindi and English, and also in many other languages. Several politicians, marketers, and others still consider quotes of Chanakya very useful in modern times.

An Indian television series titled Chanakya was also telecast on Doordarshan in the year 1991. It was a fictional version of his life.
