Jodhpur is the second-largest city of Rajasthan, India. The city circles the Mehrangarh fort and expands very widely around it. Jodhpur city is in the middle of the Rajasthan state. The fort was built by Rao Jodha in 1459. The fort is surrounded by thick walls. To reach the Mehrangarh Fort, you can take an auto or taxi. You should fix the price beforehand to avoid any problems later. Another way to reach there is via bus. Check timings if you are going via bus because they are not that frequent.

Mandore Garden

It is 11 km away from the railway station. You can take either a cab or a taxi from the railway station to reach here. It will be easy to find a taxi or auto at fair prices from the railway station. You can also get there by bus. The closest bus stop is Lal Sagar. From there, you are gonna have to take an auto.

Umaid Bhawan Palace

It is 3 km away from the airport and 5 km away from the railway station. It is also closeby to the bus stop. Other than that, taxis, cabs, and tongas are other reliable transports that you can take.

Famous Foods of Jodhpur

Kalakand

Kalakand is sweet and is also known as Mawa Miahri. It is made of milk and cheese.

Makhaniya Lassi

It is similar to regular lassi, only it has butter in it. There are flavored lassis available too.

Bajre ki Khichdi

In Bajre ki Khichdi, some additional spices are added in the regular khichdi along with Bajra. Vegetables are also added like cauliflower and peas.

Mirchi Bada

It is made of chili and potato dipped in gram flour.

Dal Baati Churma

It is a very famous dish from Rajasthan. Dal is made of lentils, Baati is deep-fried flour balls, and churma is a sweet cereal.

Pyaz ki Kachori

These are spicy onion filled deep-fried balls.

Mawa ki Kachori

It is another sweet dish of Jodhpur. But it is not as sweet as other sweets. It is made of Mawa and refined flour.

Raj Ranchhodji Temple

This Krishna mandir was built in 1904 AD by Jadechi Rajkanwar. The queen built it after her husband’s death.

Achal Nath Shivalaya

This temple is dedicated to Hindu God Shiva. It was built in the 16th century.

Chamunda Mata Temple

The architecture of this temple is mesmerizing. Chamunda Devi was the goddess of the royal family. When Rao Jodha shifted his capital, he brought an idol of Devi in Mehrangarh fort where the temple is situated.

Siddhanath Shiv Temple

Nepali baba who had four fingers each in his hands and feet cut the stones himself and made this temple. Before the temple, there was nothing here in this area.
